Israeli startup EVR Motors opens plant to make electric motor coils in India

Israel-based electric motor innovator, EVR Motors, has commenced operations of a greenfield plant in Manesar, India under its subsidiary i.EVR Motors Pvt. Ltd. The plant will produce trapezoidal geometry coils, a key component of the company’s patented electric motor topology. The plant is designed to provide coils for approximately 20,000 motors per month, with plans to rapidly expand production capacity to 100,000 motors.

EVR Motors has developed a unique motor topology called the Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motor. This topology enables the production of smaller, lighter and more cost-effective motors, which can be customized according to customer requirements. This motor topology has obtained 11 patents so far.

The company’s latest motor series offers power outputs from 6 kW to 150 kW. These motors support voltages ranging from 48V to 800V and are available with air or liquid cooling options, allowing them to be used in a variety of applications and operating environments.

EVR Motors has entered into commercial agreements with major players in the Indian automotive industry such as Nepino, Belrise Group, EKA Mobility and RSB Transmission. Under these agreements, manufacturing of EVR’s motors will commence in 2024, enabling supply of motors to various vehicle segments including two/three-wheelers, passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, e-buses and boats.

Nick Rogers, President of EVR Motors, said, “By establishing our own production facility for these electric motor coils, we are securing a critical component and ensuring a strong, stable supply chain for our customers. ” Nick Rogers has 40 years of experience in the automotive industry and previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Jaguar and Land Rover.

With this step, EVR Motors is ready to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in India and global markets. The company has also been in talks with several leading OEMs in Europe and Asia, who are evaluating EVR’s motors.
